Important Furuno NavNet Update
Important Update: Discontinuation of Internet Services for the NavNet TZT2 MFD's TZTL12F & TZTL15F
Furuno Japan have advised as of the end of August, 2025 internet connectivity will no longer be available on Furuno NavNet TZTouch2 12 & 15 inch MFD series.
As the TZ Cloud function is hosted by Microsoft Azure, Microsoft have advised that due to security service enhancements they are ending support for TLS V1.0 and V1.1 communication protocol on their servers.
NavNet TZTouch2 MFDs with CPU architecture designed in 2012 utilizes the TLS1.0/1.1 platform for TZ Cloud connection and due to hardware limitations cannot be updated to use newer versions of TLS.
Consequently, once the Azure TLS V1.0/1.1 service is retired by Microsoft the TZT2 MFD functions related to internet connectivity will no longer be available.
The timing for the end of connectivity for TZT2 MFDs is currently advised as end of August 2025 but is dependant on Microsoft. Once services have been discontinued we will confirm via email.
Please note: the following Series - NavNet TZT2 Black Box, NavNet TZTouch3 series, NavNet TZT XL series, Time Zero software, TZ iBoat are NOT affected by the above change of service.
For any questions about how this may affect you and your NavNet TZT2 MFD, please contact Furuno Australia.
