Surface Preparation Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of grease or oil. Bare timber: Apply Norseal for water-prone areas, or Pri-Coat for smoother finish. Aluminium: Treat with Metal Etch Cleaner Gel and prime with Shipshape. Steel: Apply Norshield then Shipshape. Concrete: Acid wash with Norglass Concrete & Ceramic Cleaner, pressure clean, and dry before painting. Fibreglass: Prime with two coats of Shipshape. For previously painted surfaces, sand and clean before recoating. Not recommended over xylene-based coatings.
Application Method Stir thoroughly before use to evenly disperse granules. Use synthetic brush for edges and short nap roller for large areas. Spray with HVLP using 25–30% Weatherfast Spraying Thinner if required. Apply evenly, maintaining a wet edge. Two coats required for coloured finishes, four for clear.
Precautions Do not use below 10°C. Avoid smoking or flames nearby. On very dry concrete, an additional coat may be required. Not suitable for areas of constant immersion. Paint on flat exposed or poolside areas may fade faster due to UV and chlorine exposure.
First Aid If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Give water or milk. For eye contact, flush with water for 15 minutes and consult a doctor. For skin contact, wash thoroughly. If inhaled, move to fresh air. Seek medical help if symptoms persist.
Special Instructions Thorough stirring is essential to evenly distribute plastic granules. Apply coats at right angles for uniform finish. For gradients steeper than 1:12, contact Norglass technical service before application.
