Boomer All Terrain Anchors

The Boomer All Terrain Anchor is designed to give boat owners one versatile anchor for fishing across reef, gravel, sand and mud, reducing the need to carry and change between different anchor styles as conditions change.

Its multi-prong design is engineered to penetrate and grip the bottom, while the anchor can also be configured into a dedicated Mud Mode for additional holding in softer sand and mud.

Constructed from marine-grade 316 stainless steel, the Boomer is designed for boats from approximately 3 to 9 metres.

Designed to Hold and Release

One of the key features of the Boomer Anchor is its shear-pin release system.

Different shear pins allow the holding and release characteristics to be matched to different boat sizes and requirements. During normal anchoring, the pin keeps the anchor in its working position.

If the anchor becomes firmly snagged, additional pressure can shear the selected pin, allowing the anchor to collapse and making it easier to retrieve.

This provides a practical alternative to improvised cable-tie release systems commonly used with some reef anchors.

One Anchor for Different Bottom Types

The Boomer All Terrain Anchor is designed for use across a range of common fishing and anchoring conditions, including:

  • Reef
  • Gravel and shale
  • Sand
  • Mud
  • Mixed bottom conditions

For softer sand and mud, the anchor can be changed to Mud Mode to increase its holding capability.

This versatility makes the Boomer particularly suited to anglers who regularly move between different fishing grounds and bottom types.

Choosing a Boomer Anchor for Your Boat

The Boomer Anchor uses different shear-pin options to suit different boat sizes and holding requirements.

When setting up your anchor, consider:

  • Boat length and displacement
  • Typical anchoring conditions
  • Required holding and release level
  • Rope and chain configuration
  • Bowsprit or bow roller setup
  • Whether the anchor will be retrieved manually or with an anchor winch

The manufacturer recommends the Boomer as a general-purpose fishing and mooring anchor rather than a dedicated storm anchor.
