B&G Vulcan 9 FS GPS chartplotter is a 9-inch chartplotter with Multi-touch display. Packed with sailing specific functions such as B&G’s SailSteer, >Sailing Time and Laylines, and the ability to integrate B&G sailing instruments and Autopilot systems, Vulcan 9 FS boasts a fully integrated electronics package with all the bells and whistles for a non networkable >Head unit (no Ethernet). The FS in its name stands for ForwardScan, as Vulcan FS gives you the ability to add ForwardScan forward-looking Transducer.
Vulcan 9FS also has built-in WiFi allowing you to connect to the internet, via a marina or smartphone Hotspot, and access the GoFree Shop where you can download charts and software updates direct to your Vulcan 9. You can repeat your Vulcan- 9 on your smartphone or tablet, allowing you to view and control (tablet only) your chartplotter from virtually anywhere on your Boat.
You can also add 3G or 4G >Broadband >Radar to keep watch as you sail, with the ability to identify and track targets from 36 nm away (with 4G) to right off the Bow, as well as avoid obstacles
RacePanel allows easy access to a selection of powerful sail racing features, like Race Timer, ‘What if?’ function and Start Line data.
SailSteer allows you to view crucial sailing data on one handy screen, or alternatively overlaid on your position on the chartplotter screen. By adding sailing instruments and sensors via NMEA 2000 network, SailSteer evolves with the possibility to show Boat Speed, wind data, Heading, Tide, wind Shift Sectors and even >Laylines – enhancing the detail on the SailSteer and Chart screens. Sailors can also make the most of Sailing Time, which provides accurate Waypoint arrival times based on realistic sailing manoeuvres, rather than a straight-Line calculation.
When connected to a B&G Pilot system, the Vulcan-9FS acts as a fully functioning Autopilot controller providing Intelligent Sail Steering, manual and auto steering functions and Smart Manoeuvre combined with intuitive menus for ultimate control.
Advanced NMEA 2000 network integration facilitates various options including: SonicHub marine audio server to enjoy your favourite music whilst on the water, DSC VHF Marine Radio and AIS transponder/ receivers for the ultimate in on water safety and communication.
