Norglass Polyester Resin is a general-purpose orthophthalic resin ideal for repair work and hand-laid fibreglass laminations. Suitable for repairs to guttering, roof leaks, cars, caravans, boats, showers, and many other applications, it provides a reliable satin finish once cured.

Finish Satin
Coverage 800ml catalysed resin per m² of 450g chopped strand matt (250ml for 1m² of fibreglass cloth). As a brush-on film, 7-8 m² per litre, depending on absorbency.

Preparation
  • Clean surface thoroughly; remove grease, oils, dust, and loose material.
  • Sand rough or smooth surfaces to promote adhesion.
  • Polystyrene foam should be coated with water-based product before polyester application.
  • Mix catalyst into resin (1–4% by volume) and disperse quickly in shallow trays to avoid heat buildup.
Application
  • Brush a thin coat of mixed resin onto the repair area.
  • Press pre-wetted fibreglass matt or cloth into resin; apply additional resin until fully saturated.
  • For filler coats, mix MICROTALC with resin and catalyst to achieve trowellable consistency.
  • After curing, sand and paint as needed.
Precautions
  • Use only Norglass Polyester Catalyst; do not use accelerator.
  • Flammable – keep away from naked flames.
  • Wear protective glasses and gloves; avoid eye contact.
  • Wash thoroughly after handling; keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not store resin-soaked rags in confined spaces.
First Aid
  • Poisoning: call doctor or Poisons Information Centre (AUS: 13 11 26 / NZ: 0800 764 766).
  • If swallowed: DO NOT induce vomiting; give water or milk.
  • Eye contact: flush with water for at least 15 minutes and consult doctor.
  • Skin contact: remove contaminated clothing, wash thoroughly.
  • Breathing difficulty: move to fresh air; apply artificial respiration if necessary.
Special Instructions Follow gel time recommendations; do not mix more resin than can be applied within 10 minutes at 20ºC.
